(I'm not bothered either way on either animated gif censor-replacement or turn-off-and-on-ability. I just wanted to say in passing that every time I think I've worked out what "Russian Sex Kitten" refers to, it pops up again in a form that obviously is grammatically/logically/semantically something else.) Russian sex kitten was a grammar nazi

In that case I was way off... But I can no longer remember the nature of contexts, so I'd have to search one out. And I can't be bothered.

I have no idea what word it's censoring, but the clip from Orange is the New Black with the woman saying "I'd like to report an emergency".

Russian sex kitten apparently wrote novels which were apparently excessively long and shitty to bash the reader over the head with her incredibly stupid philosophy. I say "apparently" because I already know the philosophy is stupid so I'm not going to waste my time reading that trash.

Fun fact: the monologue at Atlas Shrugged's climax is around three hours long. As in people have actually tried to deliver it, and its three fucking hours at minimum. Anyone who tells you they read the whole thing is lying.

Ahhh... I now understand Russian Sex Kitten to be the person of Russian sex kitten. And if I'm right, that name will be substituted and I can go home happy. (Or, as I am home, I can go out happy. Which I'm just about to do. Give or take the happiness. Shut up Breadknife, you're rambling!)

Can we please replace the animated gif word filters with something less annoying? I don't care that a word is being filtered, but a constantly looping image is distracting and irritating. Sorted.

I dunno if proboards has an option for this, but PhpBB allows users to turn censors off. Sniffles is there a similar option in the Proboards ACP? Not that I can see.

To the mods:
I would request an explanation for the silent banning of TSM. Given, first off, that the moderation here was sharply critical of other boards having a policy of silent bans, this strikes me as absurdly hypocritical and contrary to the very reason this place was set up. Given further that there had been absolutely no warning given to TSM, nor any indication that her posting was notably out of line compared to anyone else's, I question the rationale. I would finally state that if this is the precedent being set for the Cavern now, I would have strong reservations about continued posting here. Thus, I first ask why TSM was banned, second why there was no notice given of this, and third what could have possibly warranted a sudden, silent ban. Further, I would like to appeal the ban and ask that moderation not continue such a practice. That's literally why we are here.

All of this is in a thread I'm not (myself) reading, right now, but from merely following the "Users' last posts", it looks to me like there was a heated conversation going on and the following from Sniffles:
Thread is threatened to be be locked (non-silently), but could it have been an accidental user-banning/silencing/whatever?
Not wanting to speak on behalf of anyone, but from what I saw it looked a bit stressed, so...

So the ~mysterious banning bot~ happened to Elderberry now.
Funny how these accidents happen, eh?

You know, Proboards keeps an admin log. Might be worth taking a look.

If you have an accusation to make then just come out with it but as far as I can see you're all here and able to post.

In any event this kinda just cements my desire to swap to a new forum, and start again. The sooner the better IMO.

I was banned, for a few minutes.
Notably, I couldn't even get through to the normally publicly-accessible parts of the boards (including here) from a different browser that (now it works again) I can confirm has a "Welcome Guest. Please Login or Register." status. But, temporarily, even the 'guest' access had the Banned message.
I suspect a ProBoards bug. But I was only part of the way down the route of checking that out.
