Since we've had an increase in our membership recently, I wanted to put this out there. TBC has a 4th ed Dungeons and Dragons group that meets sunday, 2:30 PM EST online, in a virtual tabletop enviornment. New players are welcome. Current roster is:
Neo Art (DM) Poli Choronzon The Steel Magnolia Sniffage Desperate Measures The Walrus
Feel free to PM me if you wanted more information, or were interested in the group

Ooh, I see the time has changed. It is now a Sunday evening-ish for me. Which makes it possible to join (rather than the middle of the fucking night, which it was before).
Though of course, I cannot join this weekend, because of drinking duties.

I always wanted to get into DnD but never had anyone to play with. On the other hand, I don't want to join if I'm just going to be getting in everyone's way with my complete lack of knowledge of everything.

On the other hand, I don't want to join if I'm just going to be getting in everyone's way with my complete lack of knowledge of everything. All of us were n00bs to at least some degree when we started this campaign - to D&D as a whole, to 4th ed., to our virtual tabletop, or to all of the above. So we're pretty tolerant of n00bitude. Also, NA and I could probably arrange a special intro session for any brand-new players. (I'm sort of an assistant DM - I'm mostly a player, but I've made a LOT of the stuff for the game, and helped NA a fair bit with worldbuilding and backstory and such.) Also also, for anyone who cares about party balance (which you don't have to!), we currently have a dark paladin, a warlock, two rogues, a druid/cleric multi, and a ranger. So if, say, you want to roll a rogue, you totally can, but if you're wavering between rogue and barbarian, it might be worth opting for the latter.

And hey, I've read all of Order of the Stick at least twice. How hard can it be?

Druid/cleric multi and dark paladin? You people need some proper lawful good coming down from St. Cuthbert.

Also, because I like having an excuse to show off something that took me a LOT of work, this is the world in which the game takes place, as mapped by yours truly:

Okay, are bards a thing in this world? I'd like to be one.
Well, actually, I'd like to be a lumberjack. Leaping from tree to tree. Cut down trees.
I wear high heels, Suspenders and a bra.
But yeah, bard.

So is it standard 3d6 for stats or simple array?

So is it standard 3d6 for stats or simple array? Stats are 4d6, drop the lowest, 7 times, drop the lowest. We've all rolled publicly through the online tabletop system, though, so you'll probably have to wait on rolling for a LITTLE bit.

If folks are serious about playing, I'm around to show anyone the setup of the tabletop system anytime in the next several hours. Go to roll20.net, create an account, and then PM me with the email address you used for that account, and I'll invite you into our world.

I'll probably roll a cleric at any rate, probably with focus on conjuration. Because fighting is dangerous, I'll just have others do that.

So Poli has informed me that Lawful Good Dwarf Invoker makes roughly everyone opposed to me. Naturally, I decided this means I must play Lawful Good Dwarf Invoker.

I love how we are increasingly becoming a party of characters who loathe each other but nonetheless travel around together because reasons.

I came up with an actual reason, that even makes sense with my character build.
Don't know what the rest of you are doing, but I have perfectly legitimate reasons to be there.

I have no doubt that at some point in time our party will fight itself. I take no responsibility even though I'd give it 50/50 odds I caused it.

She'd probably just sit and wait for everyone to come back, starving herself to death, if she was ditched.
