For some reason, the participated threads bit only notifies me of new replies to the Notable Things in NSG thread, and none of the others.

For some reason, the participated threads bit only notifies me of new replies to the Notable Things in NSG thread, and none of the others. This seems to be a day of weird errors. I'm stumped, but I'll see what I can do. |

It deletes them after a certain amount of posting. I've not figured out the exact details.

It seems to be after a few days of you not making a new post in the thread. It's been doing it to me for months now, I think it's just a grooming feature.

The obvious solution is to visit every day and read everything. *nods* Just reading the thread doesn't sop them from getting removed. You have to actually post every two to five days. I haven't nailed down the exact number, but it's somewhere in that window. |

I'm not sure what the precise cutoff is for "recently" - I can't find it anywhere on my end - but as Wikki said, it seems to be somewhere in the "last few days" range.

Nope - and honestly, even if I could make that change, I probably wouldn't, because I think it makes more sense for most people to have it serve as a list of threads that may plausibly contain a new reply to them than a list of threads they posted in once four months ago that contain new posts. |

I take it there's no way to change it from "recently" to "ever", then? Yeah, bookmark the thread. At the top of each page there's a little drop-down menu labeled "actions". Select "bookmark" and you'll be notified whenever anyone posts in the thread for as long as it exists. However, it won't keep up with what post you were up to indefinitely, so even if you read it every day, every now and then it will send you to the first page of the thread. |
