This works for some many things! I think I can really help people! *swan dives into empty pool* How does one swan dive out of an empty pool though? A lot of pluck and a series of trampolines?

Just watch what DM does and do the opposite. This works for some many things! I think I can really help people! *swan dives into empty pool* I have a hard time believing that. You seem barely capable of helping yourself, after all.

"Lions and tigers and sheep..."? I doubt that DM is a tiger or lion. That's more TBK's area. Though she's far too young to be a cougar.

I haven't got anything remotely fleshed out yet (apart from the obligatory "Mafia in SPAAAAAACE") but I'm interested in running one and I'll work on something now I know it's open.

I definitely like your game, but that was a bit ruinous. Also message forwarding, as that can't even be faked (as I have a few ideas I'd like to try out when we've gotten some others to host, I'd probably put those in the rules explicitly should I host again).

But how do you enforce what goes on behind the scenes? I do agree, but I don't see how you can do that.

Personally, I think sending screenshots and/or forwarding messages is completely fine behind the scenes. After all, the townies have to find each other somehow, which, if you aren't the investigator, could take forever. But if you're reasonably sure that someone is innocent and you want to contact them, you'll usually need some kind of proof to show them you're not mafia. Where the whole thing gets out of whack is when a screenshot is posted in the thread, because all the behind-the-scenes maneuvering transposed into on-stage-action makes for an entirely different game with entirely different dynamics and strategies.

I agree with you on that. Behind the scenes is okay - half the fun is trying to figure out who you can trust, who you can't, and taking the risk.

Which is fine and fair. I think banning private screenshots is stupid and counterproductive, but I'm more than aware of how public screenshots can screw things up.

Perhaps we can convene a synod to determine the legality of various gameplay moves. Oh goody, I get to reprise Pope Elderberry that's been retired for some time and I just love the thought of reviving it.

Of course, that's because I haven't yet been an innocent in this kind of situation.
