Yeah. Personally, I think sending screenshots and/or forwarding messages is completely fine behind the scenes. After all, the townies have to find each other somehow, which, if you aren't the investigator, could take forever. But if you're reasonably sure that someone is innocent and you want to contact them, you'll usually need some kind of proof to show them you're not mafia. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Of course, that's because I haven't yet been an innocent in this kind of situation. Asa former innocent, admin, and mafia member I would point out that currently of the three times I've been aware of screenshot sharing only once was the screenshot legitimate. That's kind of a bad track record. That being said, forwarded messages are pretty much impossible to fake and I can see why they would be somewhat concerning given that.

Yeah, not your fault. I definitely like your game, but that was a bit ruinous. Also message forwarding, as that can't even be faked (as I have a few ideas I'd like to try out when we've gotten some others to host, I'd probably put those in the rules explicitly should I host again). I don't know how a prohibition on message forwarding could be enforced...

Well, you reacting fishy to my contacting you was the sole silver lining to an otherwise terrible blunder, so it does even the playing field.

Yay! But please, no publically posting screenshots allowed this time. Death to any who defy it! Yeah, definitely should have that spelled out from the beginning. The next time I run one that's one of the things I'll do differently. I think in this particular game it didn't kill it, but perhaps only because the mafia could recruit someone after the game started.
