Trying to edit a couple of messages in the Strange Sayings thread (the current most recent two of mine - the one pointed to, to which I wanted to add something, and the one pointing to it, as a test and to correct some awkward phrasing in separate the Mickle/Muckle response bit)... I get something like: "Oops, there was an error! The post you are trying to access could not be found." Assuming you can see them, perhaps a third-party attempt to reply (or, as Poli, test edit) would be useful, to rule out me somehow being stupid. [Ok, so might now be working again. FYI, after just saying I was shutting up.]

Interesting. Tried to test edit that message and got:
"Oops, there was an error! The thread you are trying to access could not be found."
If you can see this, at least I can reply to it, if not edit it.
[And if this gets posted, it is working again. You can probably ignore this whole thread.]

Trying to edit a couple of messages in the Strange Sayings thread [...] rule out me somehow being stupid. Test reply 2 (proper quoting reply, not Quick Reply)

Summary of tests: Quick Reply works. "Quote" reply works. Edit of OP complains the thread does not exist (when saving the edit), edit of later message complains the post does not exist (sometimes when saving the edit, sometimes when trying to get into the edit bit in the first place).
I'll shut up now. F.Y.I., assuming it's not a problem being fixed (having most likely been caused?) by the freeforums people, whilst I'm typing this. Explaining the noted inconsistency. But I said I'd shut up now, so now I will...
