Anyone interested in being a player in a new FM14 game I'll start within the next few days? I'll likely start as managing Clyde and (try to) work my way up through Scottish football before (hopefully) getting and taking a job offer in either England or the US. Okay stgeorge I've got your character made (a couple times over), but it's been proving to be difficult to get stats right. I don't know if it is because my scouts/coaches have the level of "current ability" scouting that you'd expect for a Scottish League Two side, or if it's a gameside problem, but things like "Heading - 15" is showing up as "Heading - 11" I'm going to tinker with it a bit before I actually get going to see if I can't get it fixed. Anyone here interested in an AAR type deal for this? |

The next game was looking like it was headed for extra time and then penalties (Scottish League Cup against Morton - 2 tiers above me) until I...well...threw it. No sense having two 120 minute games in meaningless competitions (to me, at least - the expectation is to simply survive relegation, but I think a midtable finish isn't impossible) with the league starting in just days. When fitness is that decimated by two long matches with such a thin squad (a necessity at such terrible levels of play) I'd rather take the loss and have my first eleven mostly fit for the start of the league campaign. |

stgeorge You're doing quite alright after an absolutely abysmal first few weeks of the season. Improving pretty regularly, which is a plus. I dunno why your stats are still weirdly not showing up as higher. I couldn't figure it out. I'll chalk it up to literally everyone on my coaching and scouting staff having shitty potential/current ability scores. The lack of cards amazes me given that your aggression is something like 17 or 18.

So, Agritum, you money grubbing scoundrel, you won't accept a decent wage for a keeper. There are pretty strict board limits for spending (max of about 350 pounds per week), even with a few hundred pounds free in my wages (seems tiny, but it's significant this far down the tiers). So I'll start a new game with both you and Fisty Jim (as i've taken to calling McFisticuffs) in the squad from the get-go. |
