Is watching players try to figure out what's going on always this fun? Yes. Yes it is. This is why I run so many games.

oh shit day's over
all right let's dododoodododthisihithishithithisthisthis
~~~~~~~~~~
Spurred by the deaths of the previous night, you all finally decide to point some fingers. The day was filled with petty bickering about what the difference between "probable cause" and "reasonable suspicion" is, but in the end you finally decide that Hurd is the culprit.
You lock him up in the jail and throw away the key.
Eventually one of you finds some old filing cabinets, and discovers the following information:
-Yalta was a professional Criminologist, and was apparently hot on the case of the true suspect. Sadly, none of her notes are included with the report. -TBD was a Specialist, although most official records seem to name him as the "ghost" for some strange reason. It also appears that TBD is listed as a criminal, despite there being no actual charges against him, and it seems like his criminal record was tampered with recently. Odd. -Hurdegaryp was a police officer, but records show that he was taking bribes from several "deep thoughts", and was also apparently wanted for unlawful profiling. Indeed, all the records point to Hurd being remarkably corrupt, as he's even suspected for conspiracy to murder.
Final votes are:
Hurd: 2 (wytyg, jello) Jello: 1 (dya) Wytyg: 1 (hurd)
~~~~~~~~~~
It is now Night.. All players with night actions should probably work on them now. Night will end at 7:30 PM on 8/20/14 unless all night actions are completed early.
In case the writeup was confusing, here's the raw data:
Hurd is now dead. Hurd was Guilty. He was also the "corrupt police officer". Yalta was the Criminologist. Innocent. TBD was the Specialist. Innocent.
If anyone wants vague and in-character descriptions of these roles, just ask.

Hunh... Well, that appears to do a pretty good job of clearing jello's name... Now I've really got nothing to go on...

Yay! Just "gullible", eh, Hurd? If Hurd was a corrupt police officer I would guess (based on nothing) that there were 3 "mafia" members: the corrupt police officer, the actual defendant, and something like the defendant's accomplice. Just because that seems more likely than just a defendant and a corrupt cop. Also, it sounds like Yalta was the detective - "professional Criminologist, and was apparently hot on the case of the true suspect". In which case, poop.

Final votes are: Hurd: 2 (wytyg, jello) Jello: 1 (dya) Wytyg: 1 (hurd) Wrong. If the gamemaster had taken the time to actually read the posts, he would have discovered that I changed my vote to Jello in reaction to his vote for me. Somebody somewhere screwed up once more, it seems.

yeah yeah I know, nothing I haven't fucked up yet, etc. Too late to go back now, though.
So.
~~~~~~~~~~
You all wake up early from your sleep, once again to the sound of a loud banging noise.
You, once again, follow it into the jail.
You find desperatemarlas locked up in a cell. However, the key to the cell seems to just be lying on the floor. You unlock the cell, and DM comes out, good as new.
But on return to the courtoom, things take a turn for the worse: You find a body lying in the middle. A quick investigation determines that the body is wytyg's, and that he was the actual Plaintiff in this case. Notably, the cause of death seems to be a very a large cut to the neck with a very sharp object, as his head is tilted open like it's on a hinge. Truly a gruesome sight.
~~~~~~~~~~
It is now day.. Day will end on 8:00 AM on 8/21/14. In case the writeup was unclear, only wytyg was killed.

Well, I guess we've confirmed that there's two killers... Now the question arises: which kill method is the mafia's and which is the vigilante/serial killer? Considering the fact that Hurd was apparently mafia, I'm inclined towards throat-slitting is Mafia, and locked in cell to starve is sk... Now, it seems readily apparent why the mafia would want whereyouthinkyoupoliying dead. Not so much why the sk/vigilante took out DM.... GD, can we get info on our dearly departed whereyouthinkyoupoliying?

The Plaintiff is a very special role. As he is the one who "started" the case, he has a "heads up" as to who the case's Defendant is.

Just an off-hand comment. No real point, and not a cutting remark, just letting a random thought flow freely out.
(Also useful for finally tagging the thread, to keep track of it as a member of the audience more effectively.)

Well, with both my "suspicious people" being eliminated at the end of the day yesterday; Hurd through lynching and Jello through having lynched Hurd, I'm left with no-one that stands out as being suspicious. Serrland, Chandy, and Blassy have all not voted to Lynch as of yet, which could indicate they're mafia laying low... But, on the other hand, this is typical behaviour for them when they are townies and unsure of who to vote for... To sum up my take on the alignment of those remaining: Innocent/Highly Probable Innocent: Myself (if the investigative role wasnt eliminated with the death of Yalta, my invitation to investigate me still stands) and Jello (while it is possible that a Mafia member voted to eliminate one of their own, I am.inclined to believe this is not the case here) Guilty: currently no suspects, see below. Uncategorized: Blassy, DM, Serrland, Chandy.
Now, I can either take a stab in the dark, and choose on of the four I am unsure of at random, or abstain for now...

I'm still confused about which way of killing is mafia and which is whatever kind of vigilante is going on here. I don't have much to go on here. DM surviving here means there's likely some kind of protective role of some sort, right? If so, in the absence of anything to go on, don't want to take a wild guess and hit someone who has a protective role. Guess I'll hop on the bandwagon and vote Breadknife.

So if we're voting for BK and he's not here, does that count as...no lynch?
