I vote Hurd, because Poli is right. This makes me sad, but I cannot say I'm totally surprised. Hence the necessity to reconsider my previous vote. Now I vote Shaggai, for two can play that game.

I vote Hurd, because Poli is right. Heh, I mean, I usually am - but I'm less confident of it this time than you are. So, okay. People who currently look suspicious: - The trio of Ovi, Hurd, and Elderberry, for pushing this "nobody gets lynched this round, we swear" plan - Dyakovo and Serrland, albeit less so, for quickly going along with it - YOU, for jumping to agree with me. That said, in agreeing with me, you brought the vote from a 1-1-1-1-etc. tie to....a 1-1-1-1-etc. tie. If your goal was just to lynch any ol' innocent, that wouldn't make any sense, since it does nothing to accomplish that. A mafioso would logically have picked somebody who already had one vote (of which there were a couple who'd supported the "nobody gets lynched" plan), instead, so that the tie was broken. Under those circumstances, while you're still pretty suspicious, I'm inclined to believe you actually DID agree with me. I think the Mafia may have played us pretty epically here - I strongly suspect one or more of those initial five dudes is a mafioso and planned this whole thing figuring that either the townies would all work together, letting the mafia get the first turn (which is a good deal for them, as I previously described), or that at least one innocent would refuse to go along and make themselves into a convenient patsy (which is obviously ALSO a good deal for them). So the question is, for me, which of those five is a baddie, and which are the suckers going along for the ride?

That changed it into a 1-1-1-1-1 instead of a 2-1-1-1-1.

Ah, but Poli herself and those who side with her are also very suspicious as they seek to mess up cooperation efforts and sow the seeds of distrust.
That said, I must admit that she has a point. I acted suspiciously. My intentions were pure but I'll be the first to admit it looked dodgy and I won't blame anyone who suspects me.
Tl;Dr you can reasonably suspect anyone at this point

And in trying to get everyone to cooperate and score an early victory for the civvies, I ended up causing way more conflict and suspicion than there usually is at this point in the game. To the civilians, I am sorry. I thought that people might lay aside their petty squabbles for once and consider cooperating for five goddamned minutes with one of the people who orchestrated the one and only civilian victory in TBC history but evidently I was wrong. Not that I'm bitter. "To the civilians" - you say that like you aren't one!

Here I am, getting names wrong, and not realising that <current forum name> EQ <popularised forum name>, in several instances, especially given the flexibility and yesterday's shenanigans...
And then I find that the participant list apparently changed since I first made a note of it, throwing my mental map askew...
Count me still confused, but my vote should be in before your deadline. (AEST=UTC+10, yes? And I'm UTC+1. Because it's Summer! Well, Spring. So 6AM. That works for me.) Expect it (or a formal abstention) before that time. Right now I'm still pondering.
(Did I tell you I /hate/ first days? Sometimes I'm glad for the "Starts at night" games.)

Wouldn't it be easier to just keep a tally of the votes like Edlich did?

Elderberry didn't update it very often anyway. I updated roughly three times a day until the final rounds where the votes were essentially unanimous.

I'm open to changing my vote if we can come to some sort of consensus on who is most likely mafia... I'll operate under a set of assumptions: 1. TBD was aware of the past groups of mafia members. 2. TBD did not use a fully random distribution (assuming this because I did not). 3. TBD attempted to get those who have not been in mafia before yet played before a mafia role. Under these assumptions, Wami, Dyakovo, blassy, roco are all not mafia (February), Neo, LaBlaat, DM, and myself are not (December), TSM and Ovi are not (October), and Poli, UD, and Sniffage are not (September). This leaves as the most common non-mafia member DogDoo7, however I will concede that this is based all three assumptions being true. As I am not certain, I will refrain from casting a vote until there can be clear indications if this was used. I will also note that this says nothing about new players. However I will note that the most common mafia members were TSM and Neo Art with two rounds each (October|September and December|October) so assuming that thesis 3 is true, they are both highly unlikely mafia members. this is a good post

Also I'm gonna be honest I'm kinda sus of poli atm, but given that the vast majority of people in this game are townies...
I dunno man. I don't know how to strategize in mafia games where the majority has no abilities.

(11 minutes ago...) "30 minutes"? I must have the adjustment wrong. (Mental note: ten hours difference, not nine.) Good job I wasn't leaving it to the last minute, eh?
Obviously I'm of the same mind as Poli, w.r.t. the equal-opportunity voting. I've got no reasons, right now, to vote for the obviously doomed individual (I think that's four five votes, by now). As I'm not going to be a make-or-break voter (as of this moment), I'm happy to officially abstain and hope for the best overnight.

Apparently the spring air has lulled many of the denizens of Truffle town to sleep, as several of them have failed to participate in this very important town meeting! What should come as no surprise to those of you who are still awake is that the people have resoundingly voted to lynch Shaggai. Carrying out their resolution, the townspeople brutally murder Shaggai. By the time the sun sets, Shaggai, a member of the mafia, is dead. It is now night.

I was late to the party. How did we figure out it was Shaggai? Everyone agreed to vote for the person directly beneath them in the list. The basic theory was the only people who would have motive to deviate would be mafia. Shaggai attempted to vote out Hurd with a vote switch, and the town (As previously agreed) voted Shaggai out instead. Good work to those involved.
