As dawn breaks, you all rush out on deck to check on the results of the night's goings on. There you find Serrland dead, with his throat slashed and Дьяково similarly lifeless apparently from a gunshot wound. Upon searching the two you discern that the former was the ship's master-at-arms and the latter was, judging by his collection of nasty knives and his smooth chin, the dastardly Captain Nobeard. It is now day. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

Well Angry Russian is dead, but he was a pirate...so who killed him? Serrland? Ovi did say he was the ship's "master at arms", whatever that means.

Yeah Ovi, what exactly does "Master at Arms" even mean? From Wikipedia: "A Master-at-Arms (MA) may be a naval rating responsible for law enforcement and force protection, an army officer responsible for physical training, or a member of the crew of a merchant ship (usually a passenger vessel) responsible for security and law enforcement." Huh, that's much more detail than my book gave. Clearly I need to read more Patrick O'Brian.

Could have been a Vig role, coincidentally (or otherwise) targeted by the collective Pirate faction action on the same night that Serrland struck out.
It sounds more Vig (town-allied role) than SK (3rd-party).
I'm happy with this state of affairs, definitely, Vigilante roles can be a bit unpredictable as to their efficacy and are often one-shot, so if they profitably used this one shot on someone who (if anyone is) might well be the single most powerful Mafia figure would be good.
The alternative is that someone else did the deed (e.g. SK) and we lost a different form of role, e.g. Blocker. But by the more obvious tallies of who is left alive, Good Guys still outnumber the bad-guys and unless Ovi has a particularly warped sense of humour I think we're still ahead on that front.
I say commence to do and say what you think you ought to do and say, in light of this.

An entire town died one night in my game. The lovers died, doctor died to Typhus, and the remaining civilian died due to mafia advantage. Conceivably, there could have been a quintuple kill (vigilante targets witch, but is himself killed by mafia, witch kills off the lovers, and Typhoid Mary kills their mark) though my first try lacked a vigilante so only a quadra with mafia targeting witch.
Hilariously, the entire town's death included the death of someone expressly protected by the doctor.

I'll stick with my vote for jello. He was mafia last game and his posts now feel exactly like they did then. Gut feeling of fishyness, which is now a word.
